The Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG) is passionate about community-based and community-engaged research. SIRG collaborates with community members to support the exploration of a topic of practical relevance to the community partner and\or works at assessing, through process and outcome evaluations, certain elements of work conducted in the community. SIRG then leverages research as a tool to promote transformative social change.
Through their continued involvement in community-engaged projects, SIRG members foster community-campus partnerships that share a common interest in improving the support provided to clients and communities provided by community-based service systems. At SIRG, our work is built on the relationships that we have cultivated in the community for over twenty years. Feminism, mutuality, trust, and authentic dialogue are the principles that guide our work.
